Registration in Stud.IP required!

In order to inform you about everything important before and during your studies, it is necessary that you join your study program group in Stud.IP:

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Take the identifier and password of the study data sheet received by mail and log in.
  2. In the Account Manager under IT Services, activate the "WebSSO / OpenID" access.
  3. Log in to Stud.IP.
  4. Search for the above-mentioned event and enter it (Tip: Search for all events in the search on the left).

If you have not yet received your study data sheet, you can still see the information in the study program groups (even without logging in). As soon as you have the documents, you should join the corresponding group.

Foundation courses

At the beginning of a bachelor's degree, students often experience some difficulties in mathematics. To make it easier to start your studies, we offer mathematics foundation courses aimed at new students of the faculty's bachelor's degree programmes.

In addition to receiving professional support, you get to know your fellow students in the foundation course and have the opportunity to make contact with students in higher semesters. Important information events for your studies also take place during the foundation courses. You can refresh yourself and get to know first-semester tutors in an "OE Cafe".

Support for first-semester students

for prospective students

If you have any questions regarding a possible study at our faculty, you are welcome to contact our students even before you start your studies. To do so, please write an e-mail to: oe-orga@finf.uni-hannover.de.

for bachelor's degree students

During the mathematics foundation course, and throughout the first semester, you will be supported by student tutors. Your tutor will help you with all questions concerning the start of your studies at LUH and will explain everything you need to know for success. In addition, events such as a campus tour and a seminar on "learning to learn" will take place during this period. More detailed information will be provided during the mathematics foundation course.

If you do not have a tutor after you have started your studies, please contact your programme coordinator for the entry phase.

You can also contact the Student Councils with any question. These councils are active during the orientation phase and will help you get off to an optimal start.
