The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science offers a broad spectrum of subjects for study and research. It is organised as 16 institutes in three divisions: Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Computer Science. Research and teaching go hand in hand, with the next generation of scientists completing their doctorates under expert supervision and the best working conditions.

This large number of first-year students began their bachelor's degree studies in Computer Science in the winter semester 2022-2023. This makes Computer Science the third most popular subject at Leibniz University. A total of 1.239 students are currently studying Computer Science at the faculty.

Faculty Locations

The faculty is spread across several buildings on the Welfengarten and Appelstraße/ Schneiderberg areas of the campus and has an additional facility in Marienwerder which houses the "GeCoLab", a test rig for generator-inverter systems operated by the Institute for Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IAL). The Dean's Office is located in Appelstraße 11.
