The Committees on Teaching and the Curriculum are anchored in the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG). The act stipulates that at least half the voting members of the committees must be students. The Presidential Board determines the number and size of the Committee on Teaching and the Curriculum, their responsibility for individual degree courses and their allocation to one or more faculties. A Committee on Teaching and the Curriculum is chaired by the Dean of Studies without voting rights.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has two Committees on Teaching and the Curriculum, the composition of which can be found below. They are responsible for all aspects of a teaching unit.
The relevant Committees on Teaching and the Curriculum are to be consulted before decisions are made by the Faculty Council in all matters of teaching, study and examinations. The Faculty Board must evaluate their recommendations and document its opinion; it may delegate individual decisions to the relevant Committees on Teaching and the Curriculum. The Committees on Teaching and the Curriculum discuss the distribution of study quality funds (SQM).
